Police are warning residents to be vigilant following two burglaries on 31 October.

An attempted burglary was reported to have happened at around 4pm on Cysgod y Coed in Prenteg.

Officers want to speak to a person who is understood to have been walking their dog at the time and disturbed two men wearing balaclavas and travelling in a BMW 340.

If you were the dog walker, or know who it was, please contact police quoting 26000893842.

At 5.25pm on the same day, a burglary was reported in Morfa Bychan, where a window was broken to gain entry into a house.

Anybody who saw suspicious activity in the Bryn Parc area is asked to contact police quoting reference 26000893648.

Police are keeping an open mind as to the likelihood of the two incidents being linked.

District Inspector Iwan Jones said: “I am appealing to anybody with information or footage of suspicious behaviour in the area around the time of the incidents to contact us.

“I am also asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious vans, cars, or individuals in your vicinity, and to keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours.

“Thieves are known to take advantage of the early darkness at this time of year to identify homes that appear unoccupied.

“I would urge residents to consider taking simple steps to protect your home, such as having lights on a timer and ensuring no valuable items can be seen from windows and doors.”

Anybody with information that could assist our enquiries for either of the burglaries should contact us via our website or by calling 101.
