THREE Porthmadog men have been jailed for offences committed in south Gwynedd.

Toby Humphries, Ashley Jones and Robert Bridgewater were imprisoned for a string of criminal offences which included burglary, blackmail and affray.

Humphries, 23, of Pensyflog, was jailed for 67 weeks and banned from driving for a year after pleading guilty to blackmail, burglary and two charges involving aggravated vehicle taking.

Jones, 26, of Glaslyn Street, received 76 weeks for burglary, two charges where there had been aggravated taking of a vehicle, and included nine weeks activated from a previous suspended sentence.

Bridgewater, 21, of Britannia Terrace, was handed a 12 weeks sentence for affray.

Detective Inspector Gerwyn Thomas, of Porthmadog Police Station, said: “It is important the criminal justice system imposes custodial sentences on those people in our community’s intent on disrupting the lives of the vast majority of law abiding citizens.

“Following a series of offences committed over just one night local police took swift action resulting in the early arrest of all offenders.

“I’m sure their conviction will bring relief and reassurance to communities in south Gwynedd and reinforce our commitment in keeping everyone safe.”
