RESCUE teams from across the Llyn Peninsula have pulled together to sharpen their life-saving skills.

Towards the end of July, senior coastal operations officers met up with Abersoch, Criccieth and Porthdinllaen Coastguard Rescue Teams at Porth Ceiriad to work on new techniques and practice old ones.

The three teams work closely together for incidents and training, and spent the evening fine tuning their cliff rescue techniques, covering standard and immediate rescues, and recovery with the winch, tugger and Z-drag.

Some of the service’s latest recruits got to go ‘over the edge’ of a cliff top for the first time too.

“It was a fantastic evening, well done to all involved,” said a spokesperson for HM Coastguard.

The Coastguard is currently recruiting new members. For more information email [email protected]
