AN ABERYSTWYTH lifeboat was called to help locate a missing person near dangerous cliffs in the early hours of yesterday, Tuesday, morning.

The crew were launched into darkness to help police and coastguard search for a missing person in the area of Constitution Hill at 2.32am on Tuesday, 3 May.

After the missing person was located by the police on the cliffs, the crew, who were aboard the station’s Spirit of Friendship lifeboat, stayed in the area until police had moved the person out of danger.

Aberystwyth RNLI Lifeboat station’s Paul McCann added: “The lifeboat crew returned to the station at 3.10am, where the boat was cleaned and rehoused before crew members went back to their beds for a few hours sleep before work the next day.”
