A PENPARCAU shop worker has told of her shock at being told by police her car had been involved in a serious crash on the outskirts of town - shortly after her keys were stolen from work.
It was reported in the Cambrian News last week that a man and a woman were hospitalised following a two-vehicle crash on the A44 between the Lovesgrove roundabout and Capel Bangor at around 8.25am on Monday, 23 January.
The Cambrian News can now reveal that the one of the cars, a silver Vauxhall Corsa, had allegedly been stolen.
Sue Barratt told the Cambrian News that car keys were stolen from her handbag while she was working at the Co-op store in Penparcau.
A man is still in hospital after suffering two fractured legs, while the female driver of the other vehicle, a silver Hyundai iX35, was lucky to escape with a fractured ankle.
Mrs Barratt said she feels “persecuted” after being told her insurance would have to cover the damage to the other vehicle involved in the crash, as well as her own.
Speaking to the Cambrian News this week, Mrs Barratt said: “I am really shaken up by it. It is so upsetting.”
