CARDIGAN High Street has been closed off for health and safety reasons following reports of tiles being blown off buildings.

Firefighters and police are currently trying to safeguard the area in the face of storm force winds.

One passer-by said tiles appeared to have come off the roof of Julian Graves.

Dyfed Powys Police say at this stage they are unsure when the road will be reopened.

Meanwhile, Pembrokeshire County Council officers have reported that conditions on the B4329 Haverfordwest to Cardigan road very difficult due to run-off of rain water from fields, while a culvert has flooded at Penally Mews in St Dogmaels.
