Tributes have been paid to a north Wales dad who died following a motorcycle collision in Corris on Sunday afternoon.

The family of Michael Peel, who was 46 years old and lived in Llanrwst, have this afternoon issued a tribute and image of him with his six-year-old daughter, Imogen.

They said: “Michael was much loved by his wife, Claire, and their daughter, Imogen.

“Originally from Northern Ireland, where he was survived by his brother David, Michael lived with his family in Llanrwst.

“He worked as an IT product manager and had a love for his motorbike, reading, films and a recent interest in DIY.

“We would like to give our profound thanks to the emergency services and the members of the public who assisted Michael at the scene of this tragic accident.”

North Wales Police reported on Sunday that members of the public along with paramedics and a police officer carried out CPR, but sadly, Mr Peel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision which happened shortly before 12.20pm on Sunday, involving two motorcycles near to the Craft Centre in Corris.

Sgt Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “I offer my profound sympathies to the family of the motorcyclist, who are being supported by a specially trained officer at this difficult time.

“We are currently investigating this incident as a fatal road traffic collision and ask that any witnesses, who have not already come forward, to contact the police with any information or dash cam footage.”
