THE death of a man at the wheel of his car has been described as a “big loss for a small community”.
Tony ‘Wenallt’ Williams, of Edern, who was in his 40s, was involved in a two-vehicle crash near Pwllheli on Friday evening.
The crash occurred at LÔn Gerddi in the village of Edern at approximately 7.15pm.
The Cambrian News understands that Mr Williams had a heart attack whilst driving and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Morfa Nefyn councillor Sian Wyn Hughes knew Mr Williams and told the Cambrian News of her sadness at his passing.
“I knew Tony all my life, and was shocked and saddened to hear the news of his passing on Friday night,” she said. “He was highly thought of in the area by many, and always knew how to humour people, by playing jokes, or because of the names he had for people.
“My thoughts go out to his parents Beryl and Adrian, and his brother Steven and all of his close family and friends, its a big loss for a small community.”
North Wales Police have appealed for any witnesses of the accident to get in contact with them by calling 101.See this week's north editions for the full story, in shops and online on Thursday
