A WOMAN has been rescued and taken to hospital after she fell almost 100ft down an embankment and was left stranded near the waterfall at Devil’s Bridge.
Emergency services including the fire service, coastguard, police and ambulance responded after receiving reports of the incident, which the Cambrian News understands occurred in the falls area of the village, at 10.54am on Tuesday, 19 April.
The fire service confirmed the woman had fallen almost 100ft, and using the fire service drone, a rope and scoop stretcher, an anchor and a winch, the fire service rope team and coastguard cliff rescue team were able to haul the woman up to safety.
The ambulance service confirmed the woman was subsequently transferred to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
A Welsh Ambulance Service Trust spokesperson said: “We were called at just after 11.15am this morning to reports of a female adult having fallen outside in the Devil’s Bridge area.
“We have attended with an Emergency Ambulance and the casualty has been conveyed to Bronglais Hospital with what appear to be non life-threatening injuries.”
Firefighters left the scene at 1.57pm.
