It was heart-warming to read in last week’s Cambrian News of shop owner Sandi Rocca, who owns Fablous Cosmetics in Barmouth, taking the time to dress her shop windows to put a smile on people’s faces.

The windows are so colourful, and they certainly cheer people up - it’s what we all need in these trying times.

The weather is getting colder each day. Let’s hope it might kill off the dreaded bug.

With snow threatened - we have hail at the moment - it does feel cosy to stay in with a roaring fire. It’s comforting too.

The long days do drag on.You have to fill your time doing something. I have honed my cooking skills, cooking fruity puddings and filling meat pies.

As we get into a new year let’s hope it’s a much better one, free from the bug.

Hope springs eternal. We all want to be happier, and a normal life will do this for all.

I have also been encouraged to write a sincere thank-you to all the shopkeepers in Tywyn, like Co-op, like Spar; Mr Singh’s shop the other end of Tywyn, and the grocer and greengrocer opposite Scissors Hairdresser.Certainly thank-you for keeping going, keeping us well supplied, with good service through difficult times - all achieved with humour and courtesy.
