A unique celebration of Christmas time featuring live music, aerial circus performances, a DJ, delicious Christmas pie, cocktail bar, glamour, sprinkles and sequins comes to Cardigan this weekend.
The 3 Daft Monkeys will be the audience’s guide, bringing their dynamic style of world folk to Small World Theatre on Saturday, 14 December.
Their infectious dancing rhythms lead you through a musical journey and will leave you breathless, enthralled and exhilarated.
Their music mixes genres from Celtic, Klezmer, Gypsy, Balkan, Latin, Ska, Dub Reggae, indie, rock and even a hint of Shostakovich.
With a brand new four-piece line-up, the band weave enchanting melodies with catchy choruses, virtuoso vibrant fiddle, rhythmic 12-string guitar, six-string bass, bespoke hand-percussion and four-part vocal harmonies.
An idea of the band’s diversity can be found in the acts that have invited them as special guests while touring.
These include stints supporting the likes of The Levellers, Hawkwind, Bellowhead, Show of Hands and Dreadzone, as well as headlining their own national tours.
3 Daft Monkeys have always maintained an independent and cottage-industry approach to their musical career, and have gained a huge following while ploughing their own furrow through the music business, gaining momentum through their live performances and intensive European touring schedule.
Now, Tim Ashton (vocals, 12-string guitar, penny whistle), Athene Roberts (violin, vocals, accordion), Jamie Graham (six-string bass) and Rich Mulryne (bespoke hand percussion kit, vocals) will bring their energy to Ceredigion for a Christmas Cabaret.
The show starts at 8pm.
