IT is a dark stormy night, the stars are out, Jim opens the Inn door to a mob of terrifying strangers – and a dangerous voyage begins!
Set sail with young Jim Hawkins plus the larger than life Long John Silver, and a crew of swashbuckling rogues, as Treasure Island explodes like a cannonball on to the Morlan Centre stage in Aberystwyth, giving audiences of all ages a story which is both epic and intimate, hilarious and harrowing.
Louche Theatre, under the direction of Harry Durnall, present Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure story in a new adaptation by award winning playwright Phil Wilmott.
Following last year’s sell-out success, Beauty and the Beast, Louche Theatre has once again commissioned local composer and musician, Brian Swaddling, to write the score for Treasure Island.
Harry Durnall added: “We have over 20 actors and musicians involved, including some of the most experienced and accomplished performers in west Wales.”
Treasure Island is on from Friday, 27 November to Sunday, 29 at 7.30pm, with matinees on Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 at 2.30pm at the Morlan Centre, Aberystwyth.
Performances can be reserved by calling the Louche Theatre Box Office on 01970 612617 or online at www.louchetheatre.com.
