A Meirionnydd silver band will repeat a little history next month in a bid to raise money and awareness.
Abergynolwyn Silver Band will play at the summit of Cader Idris, 20 years since their last visit to the peak.
The band will carry their instruments to the top of the mountain on Saturday, 7 September and are inviting people to join them for a concert at the top.
Band secretary, Elwyn Evans, explained: “The band played at the top of Cader on 9 September 1999 (pictured right) and we wanted to recreate that feat. There are three reasons we are doing this: the first is to celebrate the performance from 1999, the second is to attract sponsors and the third is to attract new members and raise awareness of what we do.”
If anyone would like to join the band on the day, they are encouraged to meet at Ty’n y Ddôl at 9am on Saturday, 9 September.
Tractors and trailers provided by will help ferry people and the band along on the day.
