THURSDAY, 7 July saw the re-launch of the Aberystwyth Liberal Democrats at the Richmond Hotel. The event was attended by over 20 local members from the Aberystwyth area including the president of the branch, Mark Williams MP.Commenting on the re-launch, Mr Williams said: “I am honoured to have been elected president of the Aberystwyth branch at the meeting last night. It is fantastic that the Aberystwyth branch has regrouped and I look forward to its continued success through the coming months and years. We have elected a really strong committee to manage the growth and success of the branch and the vibrant and engaging discussions we have had tonight are very promising signs for the future.”An interesting and considered discussion took place between members on a number of current and relevant issues, including the European Union, the growth of the party membership, next year’s County Council elections and much more. There were several new members present, who had joined since the referendum on 23 June, as well as many familiar faces.Following the discussions that took place a new committee was elected. The officers elected were as fol-lows: • President - Mark Williams MP• Vice presidents - Peter Thomas and Evelyn Saunders• Chair - Sean Langton• Vice-chair - Charlie Kingsbury• Secretary – Michael Chappell• Membership officer – Jamie Dearden• Treasurer/fundraising officer – Bryony Davies and Emily Price• Press officer – Liam Clements • Campaigns chair – Cllr Ceredig Davies.The branch very much looks forward to continued success and with over 15,000 new members to the Liberal Democrats over the past three weeks, the future for the party is looking very exciting.

THE annual exhibition is held at Blossoms Gallery Park Avenue from Saturday, 2 July to Saturday, 30 July.The Gallery is open from 11am till 6pm Tuesday to Saturday.
