JAGS (Junior Attic Group) from Newcastle Emlyn, have been busy rehearsing their latest production, simply called Alice.

Most of the characters will be instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with the delightful book by Lewis Carroll, but the story has been rewritten and directed by Suzanne Munn to present a new idea of what Alice might have experienced in a slightly more modern age.

The youngsters, aged between eight and 15, all attend the JAGS group in the Attic Theatre every Monday afternoon. They have all shown incredible enthusiasm and commitment to the project, and are looking forward to being on stage in front of an audience, some of them for the first time.

The show is recommended for anyone who is looking for light hearted entertainment including slightly random characters such as an e-cigarette smoking caterpillar, or a cook who doesn’t know not to feed the baby from a wine bottle, as well as singing flowers.

All ends well of course, with the Queen of Hearts and her slightly soppy husband getting their come-uppance in the end, but lots of adventures have to be experienced before that.

Showing today (Friday) and Saturday, 19 March, at 7pm at the Attic Theatre in Newcastle Emlyn, tickets are available from Fair and Fabulous, just opposite Cawdor Hall or online from the Attic Players website at www.atticplayers.org.uk.
