Come rain or shine, Alysha Scarrott, aged 10, has pledged to run a mile a day, every single day we are in lockdown, to say thank you to the “super-brave” Hywel Dda NHS staff.
Alysha hoped to top £2,000 for the Hywel Dda NHS Covid-19 appeal. But she has smashed that target already - raising over £2,500.
Alysha lives with her parents James and Victoria, five-year-old brother James and sister Sienna, aged three, at Clarach Bay Holiday Village, which the family run.
The site is half a mile long from side to side, so Alysha is running the length and back every day – and is charting her progress on Facebook.

Alysha said: “I know I will find running challenging but I want to do this for the NHS because they are being super-brave during this hard time.
“Even it if rains, I’m going to run every day with mum or dad.
“Running isn’t easy for me, but I’m going to do my best every single day, just like all the doctors, nurses, care workers and all other NHS workers do.”
Victoria said the family were “extremely proud” of Alysha.
“She’s picked something really challenging for her, and is really determined to see it through, even though I told her that the lockdown extension might last more than three weeks!” said Victoria.
“She was quite tired yesterday but she says she is not going to give up.”
