The West Gwynedd Branch of the RSPCA who have a charity shop on the High Street in Pwllheli are looking for emergency donations of food and other items to look after the number of cats they have in their care at present.

When local supermarket Asda heard about their plight, Jo Scott, the community champion at the store communicated with the national head office and received a donation of £25 from the Asda Foundation and the money was used to purchase much needed tinned cat food and cat biscuit food.

Freda Holme, a volunteer who runs the shop at Pwllheli said: “The shop is run by volunteers and we’re are on the lookout for more volunteers to help at the shop, so if anybody is interested please call and see me at the shop for details on how you can help the RSPCA with their work locally.”

Also, Freda said people receiving a pension or benefits can have their cats neutered for free and information can be found at the Pwllheli store.

Also, there are a selection of cats available for fostering if anybody can offer them a good home.

Call in at the shop for details.
