A TEAM of antiques specialists from one of the country’s top regional fine art auction houses is heading to Machynlleth next month on a mission to discover treasures and support a local charity raising money for a new children’s playground in the town.
The team from Halls in Shrewsbury will be holding a charity antiques valuation day at The White Lion Hotel, from 10am to 2pm on Friday, 17 February, and all the money raised will go towards Future Play. A charge of £2 per item valued will be made.
Attending the event will be James Forster, head of Halls’ pictures department; Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, head of the silver and jewellery department; and Alexander Clement, Asian art specialist.
Future Play has set a fundraising target of £100,000 for the new playground in the grounds of Y Plas and have so far raised £16,500.
