A Tremadog building which has recently been given a new lease of life as a community centre has been damaged by recent storms.

The Tremadog Memorial Institute suffered damage to its roof in Storm Ciara. As well as working to repair the damage, the committee is appealing for new members to help run the building.

Committee member Martin Pritchard said: “The committee members of the Tremadog Memorial Institute are making an appeal for fresh blood for the committee, or as a volunteer to help out on events. The institute is very well supported by local people arranging to have meetings and events, there.

Martin added: “Sadly, Storm Ciara damaged large sections of the roof of the building in February. Matters are now in hand in getting the damage repaired by an expert local roof specialist. We lost the ridge tiles on different sections of the roof which then damaged the roofing slates. Damage was also done to section of the cast steel guttering we had."
