THE Apprentice star Alana Spencer returned to her old school, Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron, to share her memories as a pupil and her experiences in the business world.

In an inspiring address Alana said that running her successful cake business needed consistent hard work and that she had always been driven to be a successful businesswoman.

Alana presented awards and certificates to numerous pupils, including the following: Jeff Taylor, who received a Bronze medal in the CogUrdd in Ceredigion and Ela McConochie for winning the Rotary cooking competition shield for the school and achieving second position in the Ceredigion Rotary.

Certificates were presented to the following Year 10 pupils: Archie Hawkes-Malvern, Hannah Davies, Laura Gaskell, Ceinwen Evans, Georgy Gould and Harry Thomas for reaching the Welsh finals in Cardiff in the Coca-cola Business Challenge.

Congratulations were also given to the Year 7 rugby team for winning the Ceredigion Rugby challenge.

The assembly also gave the school the opportunity to congratulate Alana on her successful business and winning The Apprentice just before Christmas, and headteacher Owain Jones presented her with a gift made by the Design and Technology department.
