A PINK bow, tied to railings in Machynlleth in memory of murdered schoolgirl April Jones, has been snatched by a “cruel” vandal in the week a petition calling for the introduction of April’s Law nears its target of 100,000 signatures.
The family of April, murdered by paedophile Mark Bridger after being abducted from outside her home in October 2012, have criticised the theft of the symbolic ribbon, which was cut from its place on railings outside the town’s clock.
The pink bow became a symbol of hope for the family during the search for April and has remained tied to the railings in the town centre ever since. It has gone missing several times and has had to be replaced.
An upset Coral said on Facebook: “Please, whoever it is that keeps taking April’s pink bow off the railings by the clock please STOP.
“It is upsetting sometimes that some people can be cruel.”
A fresh appeal for signatures on a petition calling for UK legislation to stamp out child sex abuse images on the internet, featured in the Cambrian News last week, has seen the number of names triple.
