Madam,
Over the last few months the media has been mainly taken over by Brexit and referenda - European and Scottish - and it will most likely carry on for at least another couple of years. Nobody knows how it will turn out.
I was surprised to hear one of the Tories admit that he believes that Scotland will win its freedom in the next five to 10 years.
During the last referendum we saw the three English parties – Lib Dem, Tories and Labour – join up to oppose giving Scotland its freedom, with the battle-cry “Better Together”. I expect it will be the same next time.
The question I would like to pose is: “If we’ve been so successful over the last couple of centuries... together, how come we’re £1.7 trillion in debt which is increasing?”
Better Together? In the words of Ifas y Tryc: “Scarcely believe! Never in Europe, good boy!”
Yours etc,
Cllr T Melfydd George, Plaid Cymru, Cardigan Town Council, Heol Caemorgan, Aberteifi.
