A Llanidloes author will release his latest book of poetry at a local bookshop on Thursday.

Jeremy Over, who lives in Newchapel just outside Llanidloes, is launching his third book of poetry at the Great Oak Bookshop at 7pm, with royalties from the book being donated to the Wales Air Ambulance and climate change campaign group Extinction Rebellion.

Jeremy, who has won praise for his work from Radio 3 host Ian McMillan, amongst others, said he was pleased to be able to launch Fur Coats in Tahiti at Llanidloes’s local independent book shop.

He said: “We live in strange times and my poetry tries to reflect at least a little of that strangeness and celebrates a kind of childish joy in nonsense and surrealism.

“The royalties from the book will be going toward Wales Air Ambulance who help protect us all in the present, and Extinction Rebellion who are trying to protect our children’s future.”
