THE monthly meeting of Bala Wl was held in the Canolfan Bro Tegid on Thursday, 12 May. Secretary Beryl Roberts, gave everyone a warm welcome on a lovely sunny evening.The business part of the meeting was dealt with first, including the reading of the April minutes and items from the Federation Newsletter.Summer Fair, Dragon Theatre, Barmouth 2pm-3.30pm, 7 July – The Berwyn Group will be responsible for the bottle stall. Please will all Bala members bring a ‘bottle of something’ to either the June meeting or give your bottle to Beryl by 30 June.All Wales AGM Llandrindod Wells, 20-21 April attended by Beryl Roberts and Jean McNaught. Beryl gave a very interesting and informative report on the conference and also on the Spring Council held in Rhydymain village hall on 26 April.

Resolutions• Avoid food waste, address food poverty.•Appropriate care in hospitals for people with dementia.

After hearing all the relevant information and much discussion, members cast their votes.

Business concluded, the fun part of the evening took over as members tried their hands (and feet) at Maypole Dancing with instructions from a very patient Ann Bufton.

There was much hilarity, but members agreed they would like to do it again sometime.

The next meeting on 9 June will be held at the Gorwelion and is the Walk, Eat & Talk night.
