Madam,

Re: Machynlleth bank closures.

There has to be an intelligent solution. NatWest’s former building in Maengwyn Street is still vacant, as will be Barclays, near the clock tower, very soon.

Keep the Barclays building. It is central to the town. It is secure. It has a cashpoint. It has a night safe. It has office space, and counter space.

The shrunken Post Office, or travelling to Aberystwyth, or Dolgellau, is not a solution.

Why can’t the three banks, HSBC, Natwest, and Barclays, share this existing banking space?

Yours etc,

Steve Jagger, Machynlleth.
