Bowling club

THE clubhouse is now looking very smart, the refurbishment now completed. The rabbit family whom the club rehoused last season obviously did not like it’s relocated site, so has now returned to it’s former home, the bowling green.April was, despite some very poor days, once again kind to the club and therefore it had a good start to the 2016 season. The green is in fine shape so matches and games are going ahead at a pace. The first competition was town versus country which took place on 16 April where town overcame country, followed by the men’s round robin match on 23 April. This was won by David Owen with Bryan Gatehouse runner-up On 30 April, Barmouth was host to a team from Lichfield who proved to be far too good for the local team and Barmouth was soundly beaten. The Lichfield players were an excellent adversary and the Barmouth team was pleased to have met such a great bunch of very pleasant people. Post-match, all enjoyed refreshments in the clubhouse, followed by the usual light-hearted banter and raffle. The buffet provided by the club’s ladies was much appreciated. All in all, the first month of the season was a great success.
