Ty Gwyn

DO you have a couple of hours to spare? If so, how about joining the Ty Gwyn rota during the summer months. Giving of your time as a volunteer in a small museum can be most enjoy-able and rewarding. You meet so many interesting people from all age groups and walks of life. You don’t have to be a history graduate, all the information you need to know is at your fingertips. If not, there’s always someone to help. The purpose is to make people feel welcome and at ease and hopefully make them want to learn more about our Barmouth town. If you have never done any volunteering, now is the time to give it a go and feel the satisfaction of helping to keep Barmouth’s maritime heritage alive and well. Ty Gwyn is open every afternoon between 1.00 and 4.30pm. If you can help on any afternoon please contact John Puddle on 01341 280602. You won’t regret it; the outlook over the harbour from inside or outdoors is fabulous and a big bonus.

Batala Bermo

On 10 June Batala Bermo joined by members from Batala Bangor, Rocked the Ramparts of Harlech Castle to open Rock Ardudwy. The next day the band went on to give an exuberant performance on Barmouth harbour followed by a rousing session on the breakwater giving the teams taking part in the Three Peaks Yacht Race a great send off. Anyone who felt in-spired by the samba rhythms.
