A BARMOUTH homeware store has released a parody of this year’s John Lewis advert - with a starring role from the manager’s two-year-old son.
Pieces for Places has produced its own take on Edgar the Dragon with their Edgar being played by the store manager’s son Jacob Harris.
Jacob stars alongside his real life dad, James Harris and helps bring Christmas to the store.
Store owner Jack Brooks explained: “James is a manager at pieces for places, and a single dad.
“We have a policy at work that you can bring your children to work if you need to.
“So the advert is based on a true story in a way.
“You can often find Baby Cora and her mum Eve both down in the little shop.
“Jacob does come into the shop regularly, at which point work stops and everyone plays with him! He is just the most incredible little man!”
This is the third time Pieces for Places has produced a parody of a John Lewis advert, with sexy penguin in 2014 and Nan on the Town in 2015 both going viral.
Speaking on filming this year’s offering, Jack said: “Jacob was absolutely brilliant at following instructions, and more times than not, he nailed everything on the first take.
“We did have to pay him in toy cars though, which he absolutely loves! I had to have a new one for him at the end of each day’s filming.
“Jacob’s acting skills were far better than his dad James’. James needed loads of re shoots.
“In fact we didn’t have our normal camera guy, so we had to film it all ourselves this time, we didn’t know what we were doing, that was the biggest challenge.
“I know the last two videos we have done have been very successful, I don’t think we can expect the same for this one because like I say the production is as professional.
“But we love this one because it stars Jacob and shows off the shop and Barmouth more than the others do probably.”
