A documentary will go behind the scenes of a beach town in Meirionnydd.
On Tuesday, 13 July, DRYCH: Y Bermo will follow the people of Barmouth, showing how its residents have helped shape the town and how it is evolving with new challenges like Covid.
Characters that feature on the show include Steve Donks and his donkeys, the lifeboat team, Will and his chip shop, Vic and his sweeties and Dylan and his niece Mari, whose family have run a caravan park on the mountain slopes since 1957.
The producers said: “Some believe the town has seen better days but the hard working residents are confident the sun will shine on them this year.
“Since the pandemic, there is new hope in the town. With a need to stay close to home again this year, beach towns are popular places to spend the summer holidays. The people of Barmouth are hopeful it will be a prime destination.
“Archive footage will remind us of the town’s special history and connect its past and present. But what does the future hold?
Is the town suffering from an identity crisis? Or is it content to remain a popular tourist destination to people from all over the UK?”
The show will highlight stunning views of the big, small town and the music score is composed by Patrick Rimes.
The show is on S4C at 9pm. English subtitles available. Also available on catch-up.
