TANYBWLCH beach received a spruce-up this week by volunteers, as a group set up to tackle litter issues on Aberystwyth beaches received a donation towards their work.

Members of the Aberystwyth Beach Buddies group and young volunteers from Ceredigion Training joined forces on Wednesday last week to give the beach at Tanybwlch a clean.

Also on Wednesday, Sian Obermaier, founder of the Beach Buddies group, received a donation of £200 from Souled Out Promotions.

The cash was raised at the event company’s New Year’s Eve gig at Aberystwyth Football Club.

Sian said the donation will be “put towards upcoming projects”.

“These include liaising with local artists young and old to produce logos and artwork for awareness-raising items such as reusable beach bags, pocket ashtrays, posters and postcards,” she said.
