Editor,
I’m one of the more than 5,000 women in Ceredigion born in the 1950s who have lost several years state pension because of government legislation. We 1950s women often feel our campaign for pension justice isn’t at the top of anyone’s agenda.
Our MP Ben Lake was different. As soon as I contacted him he took action, held public meetings, organised advice sessions, spoke in the House of Commons and tabled an Early Day Motion.
When the High Court dismissed the Judicial Review of the government’s pensions policy, Ben was there for us. He gave us encouragement, moral support and practical help with raising money to contribute to the costs of an appeal.
We 1950s women are in it for the long haul. So is Ben. He has been with us every step of the way and will continue to be so if he is re-elected as our MP.
