A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Pen Llyn schoolgirl who underwent brain surgery and months of treatment in America has been told her tumour has been successfully treated.

Brave Evie Hughes, an Ysgol Morfa Nefyn pupil, returned to Wales in June after enduring months of Proton Therapy treatment in Florida, a pioneering procedure that was not available in the UK.

“We’ve had the best news,” Heather, Evie’s mother, said.

“Now that the tumour has been zapped it is not showing signs of activity!"
