FORMER Cambrian News editor Bev Thomas has signed up for a charity ‘60 in September’ challenge and is urging others to do the same.
The challenge is run by Hywel Dda Health Charities in September every year to raise money for local NHS patients and staff.
All you need to do is think of an activity based around the number 60 and complete it during September.
Bev was editor of the Cambrian News for 22 years until she stepped down at the end of last year to spend more time with family.
She is planning to run 60 miles during the month for the chemotherapy day unit at Aberystwyth’s Bronglais Hospital.
She said: “I haven’t done any running since the London Marathon seven years ago, so I will be starting from scratch.
“But I wanted to do something to help the NHS, whose staff do such fantastic work, and it is good to challenge yourself.
“Please give me a toot or a wave if you see me out running to spur me on. And if you can spare some money to donate, I will be very grateful.”

Bev is urging others to sign up too. You could pledge to run, walk or cycle 60 miles; do 60 press ups a day; bake 60 cakes. The ideas are endless.
There are no rules to taking part – apart from the government guidelines on social distancing.
All that is asked is that you raise a minimum of £60 for Hywel Dda Health Charities.
You can register your interest at 60inseptember.eventbrite.co.uk
