A CARING community has rallied round to give a Christmas to remember to a 44-year-old Pwllheli mum, who has been diagnosed with a rare degenerative disease.
Anna Craig was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) earlier this year.
Now a crowdfunding page has raised nearly £800 to help Anna and her family make special festive memories.
The former pharmacy worker had struggled to get a diagnosis for her condition for almost two years after undergoing several tests for her constant back and leg pain.
The former pharmacy worker, who has three children Amy, 23, Chloe, 19 and Esyllt, six, and three grandchildren, said: “It’s an incredibly cruel illness; I depend on help from partner Sion as I am now in a wheelchair full-time.
“What people don’t realise is that there is no cure for this, some people say to me that they hope I get better soon, but I won’t.
“In the last year I have had further problems with the movement in my arms and hands, the disease affects everyone differently, but I know I want to raise more awareness of the condition while I can.”
The fundraising appeal has reached £785 and the family are now planning on where they will be heading to create some new memories over the festive season.
