Blodwen Evans, of Queens Road, Aberystwyth, was joined by loved ones to celebrate her 100th birthday at the Conrah Hotel.

Born in Aberystwyth on 28 June 1919, the same day as the Treaty of Versailles was signed, Blodwen worked at Pantycelyn hall of residence when Prince Charles was a student there.

She was married for 58 years to John Evans, who worked as a setter for the Cambrian News.
