A DISABLED holidaymaker has returned to Aberystwyth in a bid to lay to rest the ghosts of a sexual attack she suffered in the town two years ago.

In May 2014, Tracey Angel - formerly Woodhouse - had her day out by the Aberystwyth seaside ruined when a man pestered and sexually assaulted her after following her into a women’s clothes store on Great Darkgate Street.

Tracey, 41, waived her right to anonymity as the victim of a sex crime to speak to the Cambrian News at the time about the “horrible trauma” of her day in Aberystwyth and said she was “scared to return” to the town.

Now, following therapy, Tracey and her wife Michelle and cane terrier Toto, have returned to Aberystwyth in a bid to “move on” from the experience.

Tracey, who moved to Merthyr Tydfil from Worcester for a fresh start after the attack, visited the seafront this week to read out a letter to her attacker Cheikhou Toure, before throwing it in to the sea.

Toure was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years after being convicted at Aberystwyth Magistrates Court in September 2014.

Speaking to the Cambrian News this week, Tracey said that she is feeling a lot better, and was “proud” to have conquered her fears of returning to the town.
