TICKETS to see Sir Bryn Terfel’s first singing engagement in north Wales since his knighthood, sold out an hour after going on sale.

Tickets for the concert which takes place at the Memorial Hall Criccieth on Saturday, 17 June and celebrates Criccieth Festival’s 30th Anniversary, went on sale at 10am last Saturday and were snapped up in no time.

People queued outside the Memorial Hall from 8.30am to get their hands on tickets, which were limited to two per person.

Philip George, chairman of Criccieth Arts Association said: “By the time the box office opened there was a queue of 70 or so with more joining every minute.”

The festival itself takes place between 16 and 25 June.
