DOLGELLAU Town Council has held a ‘secret’ meeting to discuss plans for a bus exchange in the town.

Officials from Gwynedd Council met with town councillors in an extraordinary meeting last Tuesday to discuss different options for the future of the town’s bus service.

No press or public were allowed to attend the meeting, but it is understood that there will be a public consultation in the very near future. Buses, especially ones which stop and congest Eldon Square, have been the subject of much debate in the town in recent months.

Town mayor Delwyn Evans was keen to point out there was no conspiracy.

“There will be no secrets, just an opportunity to hear a flavour of what the county council has planned before it goes on public record,” he said.

Deputy mayor Ywain Myfyr was keen to ensure an embargo was in place so there could be “no misinterpretation in the press on the matter”.
