The best restaurants in Gwynedd and Ceredigion have been revealed, with eight of Gwynedd’s dining destinations making it in to a new guide from the AA.
The Restaurant Guide 2020 features all the top dining destinations in the UK that have been awarded rosettes by AA inspectors.
The 27th edition that features 2,000 eateries overall includes almost 30 from north Wales, all chosen for their “culinary excellence”.
Making the guide from Aberdyfi is the Penhelig Arms, joined by Abersoch’s Porth Tocyn Hotel and The Dining Room. Bala’s Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant also makes the guide, as does Criccieth’s Bron Eifion Country House Hotel, Dolgellau’s Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel and Bwyty Mawddach, and The Hotel Portmeirion, in Portmeirion.
From fine dining perfect for a special occasion to beloved local eateries, the AA Restaurant Guide includes many favourites, plus over 140 new and interesting restaurants which have made it into the guide for the first time this year.
Five Ceredigion restaurants were also featured.
Receiving two rosettes in the 2020 guide are The Falcondale Hotel and Restaurant in Lampeter; Y Talbot in Tregaron; and Hammet @ Castell Malgwyn in Llechryd.
Rounding off Ceredigion restaurants in the 27th edition of the guide is Caemorgan Mansion in Cardigan which received one rosette.
