LOCAL businesses in Meirionnydd are “working together” to help benefit the county’s economy and boost the area’s chances of attracting a spaceport to the region.
Llanbedr Aerodrome has taken delivery of a new twin cab pick-up truck from local Isuzu dealer RJ Williams in Talsarnau.
RJ Williams salesman Gwion Lockett said he was “delighted” the aerodrome had chosen to source a vehicle locally and that RJ Williams would be working with the airfield over the coming months to add to the specification to meet the needs for the truck’s role as a support vehicle for the airfield fire and rescue vehicle.
“It’s fantastic for local companies to work together and keep trade within the local economy,” said Mr Lockett.
“There have been some very exciting advances at the aerodrome and enterprise zone lately and we’re delighted to be able to supply quality vehicles to help them win their bid for the UK’s first spaceport.
“The whole area benefits when local businesses collaborate.
“It’s going to be an interesting few years for the region.”
Deputy airfield manager, Jason Coleman, thanked Isuzu and Sign Creation in Dolgellau for their work to get the truck ready for a special aerial fisheries protection and environmental surveillance project.
