The Dyfi Distillery in mid Wales has been shortlisted for two business awards within a week.
Last week, brothers Pete and Danny Cameron, who set up the distillery in Corris, near Machynlleth in 2016, were told that they were a finalist in the Rural Business Awards, which recognises companies across the UK which champion working in a rural location.
This week, the distillery found out it was also a finalist in the Wales Start Up Awards, which celebrate successful businesses in their first three years of trading.
“It was great to receive two pieces of wonderful news in such close succession,” said Danny.
The Dyfi Distillery specialises is making very small batch artisan gins from its premises at Corris Craft Centre.
In 2017, the distillery’s Pollination Gin won the title of Best Gin at the Great British Food Awards, while its barrel-aged Hibernation Gin was named the Best New Gin by The Independent in the same year.
“We’re a tiny family distillery, but everything is done with a passion for quality,” added Pete.
As well as selling their award-winning gins from their cellar door shop and website, Dyfi gins are sold by Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges and offered by many Michelin-starred restaurants across the UK, in addition to hostelries closer to home.
