WORK is set to begin on 16 new eco-sensitive cabins amongst the trees in Beddgelert.

The latest Forest Holidays location, which is designed to compliment 85 existing camping and caravanning pitches, is due to open in Summer 2018 and will, developers say, bring more than half a million pounds of investment into the local economy each year and generate year-round employment opportunities for the local community.

Jim Jones, managing director of North Wales Tourism, said: “With demand growing for high quality accommodation in Snowdonia National Park, we are delighted to welcome Forest Holidays to north Wales.

“North Wales is a vibrant and thriving destination with a growing reputation for inspirational and exciting tourism experiences and I am confident that Forest Holidays will compliment and further enhance this offer.”

Forest Holidays successfully operates nine locations across the UK, each set exclusively in Forestry Commission owned woodland, with four locations situated in national parks.

Beddgelert will mark Forest Holidays’ first location in Wales and fifth location in a national park.
