A dozen local pubs have been given the CAMRA seal of approval.
Four local pubs have been included in the Good Beer Guide 2020 for the first time.
They are the Black Lion in New Quay, the Slater’s Arms in Corris, and the Skinners Arms and the Wynnstay Arms, which are both in Machynlleth.
Entry in the guide is based entirely on evaluation by CAMRA members and each local branch is allocated a number of entries for their pubs.
Beer quality is the overriding consideration and, as part of the selection process, branches review the scores that CAMRA members have given for beer drunk in pubs all year round.
“An entry in the Good Beer Guide is CAMRA’s stamp of approval and I would like to congratulate all our local pubs that feature in the new edition,” said Bae Ceredigion CAMRA pubs officer Alex Vokes.
“There are more and more excellent real ale pubs in our branch area which makes competition really tough for our limited number of spaces.”
The four new Bae Ceredigion area pubs join long-standing entries in the guide including the Ship and Castle and the Glengower Hotel in Aberystwyth, the Druid Inn in Goginan and Y Talbot in Tregaron.
The other well-deserved local entries are the Cadwgan in Aberaeron, the Rhos yr Hafod in Cross Inn (Llanon), the Three Horseshoe in Llangeitho and the Dovey Valley Hotel in Cemmaes Road.
