FANS of one of the biggest bands in history could be in for a treat after it was announced their Machynlleth cottage retreat is open for bookings.
Bron-Yr-Aur cottage, famous for being the retreat of Led Zeppelin in the 1970s and having one of their songs named after it, will open its doors to visitors this winter for two-day retreats for writers, poets, artists and anyone who just wants to escape their busy lives.
Visitors will be able to experience luxury “glamping” in the beautiful surrounding scenery complete with sheepskin rugs and a comfortable double bed, along with the option of champagne afternoon teas or a “pop-up recording studio.”
Due to strict Snowdonia National Park rules, retreats are only available for 28 days of the year.
Scott Roe, resident and bronyraur.com founder, said the idea came after an art project last year, in which many people — travelling from more than 15 countries — expressed an interest in staying there.
Mr Roe said: “During our successful Bron Yr Aur project last year we had lots of people asking about being able to stay here and we thought long and hard about ways to make this happen.
“We only announced this yesterday in a discreet way and already we have bookings and interest from one surprising VIP.”
Mr Roe added the interested VIP was non other than the legendary British artist who designed the Led Zeppelin III album cover, Zacron, whose wife had got in touch.
