A DOLGELLAU company has its been left “thousands of pounds out of pocket” after being without any phone lines for over a week.
W D Pugh and Sons Ltd, a car dealership on Bala Road, has been without working land lines since Tuesday 10 May.
Dinah Pugh, one of the company’s directors, has criticised BT Openreach for not reacting to the problem quickly enough meaning the company was unable to conduct any meaningful business for over seven days.
Mrs Pugh also suggests that BT Openreach’s customer service has been lacking.
“Our service provider [Intralan] has told us that Openreach are on the case and that Openreach have had to dig up cables or similar to try and resolve the problems.
“God only knows what callers think about not being able to get through to a business for a week or more – I’m certain we’ve lost out on thousands.
A spokesperson for BT Openreach said: “An engineer visited the site on the first available appointment (Tuesday, 17 May) and was able to restore their landline service on the same day.
Intralan were contacted for comment but no resp-onse was received at the time of publication.
