A Llanidloes newsagents store owner is in the running for a prestigious national award - one of only four in the UK.

Trudy Davies of Woosnam and Davies News is one of four finalists in the National Lottery Retailer of the Year category in the upcoming NFRN Awards, organised by the Federation of Independent Retailers.

Now she will be travelling to London for the glittering awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

The award, which is sponsored by National Lottery operator Camelot, seeks to recognise a retailer who actively promotes the National Lottery both inside and outside their store as well as online and who keeps customers fully informed about rollovers, National Lottery events and local good causes that have benefited from National Lottery proceeds.

Trudy is no stranger to success in the NFRN Awards as she was crowned Community Champion of the Year at last year’s ceremony.

The Awards recognise excellence in news and convenience retailing, rewarding those who have made an outstanding contribution to the sector.
