RESIDENTS in a Meirionnydd village will soon be able to get their pint and their post all at the same time.
The Post Office is proposing to introduce a new Hosted Outreach Service at The Victoria Inn, Llanbedr, allowing for a postal services to be provided for a few hours a week in the local hostelry.
There will also be banking facilities on site, allowing people to access their money and pay in cheques.
The Hosted Outreach Service, whereby a nearby Subpostmaster provides a service at a set time each week, would be operated by the postmaster from Criccieth post office, who would visit the community every Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm.
The new service is located only a few metres around the corner from the former branch which closed temporarily in April 2015 following the resignation of the postmaster.
The same range of services will continue to be available with the addition of an on-demand Euro travel money service.
Customers can still collect their benefits in cash using the everyday banking services or post office card account.
The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six week public consultation.
The consultation will close on 21 December.
