LOCAL producers are being sought to take part in a unique vending machine project.
The project will see a vending machine full of local produce set up in a couple of locations to test interest in this unique way of delivering fresh produce.
A spokesperson for Arloesi Gwynedd Wledig said: “We have carried out research into the project and have found a number of successful examples of farmers and producers in Britain using vending machines to sell directly to the public.
“No-one in Gwynedd, or in north Wales as far as we know, is pioneering with this yet.
“According to some, vending has a key role to play in the future, and we feel we need to be at the forefront of developments.
“We are piloting a local produce vending machine to sell directly to customers in locations across Gwynedd in an innovative, cost-effective and reliable way.
“It will be necessary to attend training in food hygiene for selling in a vending machine.
“Twenty per cent of the sales prices will be contributed towards the running of the machine and producers will be responsible for stocking the vending machine.”
