A £1,750,000 petrol station development in Machynlleth, which is due to open next summer, will create an additional 12 jobs for the local community.

The Ascona Group have announced a £1.75m investment in the Texaco Garage, near Machynlleth railway station.

The development is due to begin in March 2022, with an opening date of 1 August 2022.

It will create an additional eight full-time jobs and four part-time jobs.

There will be a “slightly bigger” Nisa shop on site, which will keep an expanded range of products and food to go offering, and an additional four pumps will be added to the forecourt, taking the total from four to eight.

A roll-over car wash will also be introduced, as well as dedicated HGV lanes and additional parking. Additionally, there will be space for up to 12 EV car charging points.
