A CHILDREN’s indoor soft play centre near Aberystwyth is to close this weekend.

Jungle Jo’s Soft Play, which opened its doors to the public at the Old School in Llandre in December 2014, has confirmed its last day of trading will be on Sunday, 4 September, with the owner, Jodi Phillips, claiming the centre “is not viable as a soft play”.

The Old School was transformed into a soft play centre four years before the opening of Jungle Jo’s - starting life as Play Planet in October 2010. But Mrs Phillips urged people considering opening a similar business to “seriously reconsider”.

“It is with great sadness and regret that I confirm that Jungle Jo’s Soft Play‘s last day of trading will be Sunday, 4 September, 2016,” a statement posted on the centre’s Facebook page read.

“It has been a long, exciting, stressful and exhausting journey where every ounce of my energy and motivation has been poured in. However, every business owner has to be realistic and no business can survive on hope.

“Simply, the centre is not viable as a soft play."
